H1N1 Vaccine Clinic

Wednesday, March 17
Etowah Library
12:00 - 5:00 PM

Free. No insurance required.
H1N1 Vaccine is for ages 6 months and older.

Flu Line 694-4040

We will continue H1N1 vaccinations by appointment. Please call when the Flu Line is open to schedule an appointment. If you need to cancel an appointment for any reason, please call 694-4040 from 9:00 - noon, Monday through Thursday. If you are unable to call during those times, it is not necessary to call another number, just call back at the next opportunity to reschedule.

The Health Department’s supply of nasal spray H1N1 vaccine is limited and will not be available after March 30. For children 6 months through 9 years of age who need a second dose of H1N1 vaccine after March 30th, injectable vaccine is available. Ideally the same type of vaccine should be used for both. If different types of vaccine are used for the first and second doses, there is no need to revaccinate the child. The doses should be separated by at least one month (28 days).

We update our Flu Line and our Web site on a regular basis. Continue to check for new information.

Visit Henderson County Flu or call the Flu Line at 694-4040 to keep informed about what you should know and do about H1N1 and seasonal flu. The Flu Line is open Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. - noon. The Flu Line does not take messages when closed.

North Carolina’s Smoke-Free Restaurants and Bars Law
Starting January 2, 2010, nearly all restaurants and bars in North Carolina and many lodging establishments will be smoke-free, thanks to S.L 2009-27 (G. S. 130A-496), otherwise known as North Carolina’s Smoke-Free Restaurants and Bars Law. On this site, SmokeFree.NC.Gov, you will find information about the law, frequently asked questions, tools for businesses to prepare for the law, and information for citizens. Violations can be filed by calling the CARE-LINE at 1-800-662-7030 from 7 am - 11 pm seven days a week.

Effective December 1, 2009, the NC DPH Immunization Branch has changed the availability of certain vaccines. Children who qualify for the Vaccines for Children Program will continue to get the vaccines at no cost, however some families will now be responsible for the cost of vaccines that are recommended but not required. This change is a result of significant budget cuts to North Carolina’s vaccine program. We regret that we are no longer able to offer all recommended childhood vaccines and some adult vaccines at no cost.

Hendersonville Regional Walking Guide is available now. For a hard copy, contact Tricia Stauffer at 694-6065.

North Carolina has had a public health system for 129 years. Currently, 86 local health departments provide services to all residents of the state's 100 counties. Find out what public health does in a short video found at Generation Public Health.

Where can I find dental care? Who provides medical transportation? Answers to these questions and others are in our updated Community Resources for Health and Wellness brochure. A Spanish version is available as well.

New Communicable Disease reporting procedures are required for health care providers.
