WIC Program

The WIC Program has changed our appointment system to better meet your needs.

The Henderson County WIC Program has a new appointment schedule. All new appointments should be made by calling the WIC office on the day you wish to come in. We accept calls Monday - Thursday starting at 8:00 a.m.

To schedule your next WIC appointment, please check your vouchers to see when you will need to come in. Try to schedule your WIC appointment about 1 week before your last vouchers run out.

When you call the health department at (828) 692-4223, please select the following options in this order:

#5 for WIC
#1 for WIC
#1 for appointments

Please stay on the line. DO NOT HANG UP.

You will need to bring in the following information to be certified:

  1. Individual being certified
  2. Social Security card and shot records
  3. Proof of identification: valid driver's license, SS card, school ID, Medicaid card, military ID, or birth certificate
  4. Proof of residence: recent water bill, electric, cable, gas, or telephone bill, current rental or mortgage agreement
  5. Proof of income: current Medicaid card, Work First eligibility or Food Stamp approval letter. If these do not apply, bring your last month paycheck stub or recent tax return for self-employment
  6. Bring WIC Folder (can be used as ID)

Plan to stay 1 ½ - 2 hours for this appointment.
